Keyser, W.Va. – The Garrett Lakers played a physically aggressive game and held off the host Catamounts to earn a 61-57 win in Region 20 Division II action Monday night at Lough Gymnasium.

At the 7:00 mark of the first quarter Makenna Douthitt hit a short jump shot, drew the foul and made the free throw to give Potomac State their first lead of the game, 9-8. From there, the Catamount’s never looked back, overpowering the visiting Garrett College Lakers and coasting to a 96-43 win Saturday afternoon at Lough Gymnasium.
With most of their usual NJCAA Region XX opponents not participating, the 2020-21 basketball season will take the WVU Potomac State College women to unfamiliar places. That place Friday night was WVU Tech and the four-year NAIA opponent proved too much for the Catamounts to handle. The Golden Bears beat PSC, 112-34.
