Catamounts Fall at Home to Monroe College - Bronx

Kelly Ours had a game-high 14 points and  added 5 assists in Potomac State's to a 69-62 loss to Monroe College - Bronx at Lough Gym, Saturday afternoon.

A strong start from both teams led to back and forth scoring and close first half that saw six lead changes. 

Alexis Yanosky dished out nine assists and seven boards for the Catamounts. Kelsey O'neal added 12 points and Talynn Mcdonald added another 11.

Monroe took a slight lead into break, leading 29 -27. The Express came out firing in the third quarter outscoring the Catamounts 27-12 and leading 56-39 heading into the final ten minutes. 45 seconds into the fourth quarter, the Express would take their largest lead of the night, 19 points. 

A late comback by the Catamounts cut the lead to 5 with 35 seconds remaining in the game. Potomac state had no choice but to foul and Monroe was able to make their free throws at the end of the game to put it out of reach. 

Janay Legagneur scored a team-high 19 points and snatched 4 rebounds for the Express. Ariella Johnson provided 14 points and 5 boards.

 

 

The Catamounts will return to action January, 11 when they take on Northern Virginia Community College at home. Game time is slated for 5:00 pm.
