The Potomac State women's basketball team started the game quick and never looked back en route to a 90-30 victory over visiting Northern Virginia Community College Wednesday evening at Lough Gym. The Catamounts saw five players score in double digits in the game.
Kelly Ours led the Catamounts with a team-high 17 points. Alexis Yanosky scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, had 6 assists and 5 steals. Talynn Mcdonald added 11 points of her own aswell as 9 assists.
Madilyn Martin scored 13 points to go with 4 rebounds, and Olivia Saunders rounded out the Catamounts double digit scorers with 10 points off the bench.
Potomac State shot 51% from the field in the first half to take a 48-20 lead into the break. The Catamounts continued to increase their lead in the second half, not allowing NOVA any chance to come back.
Venus Hill scored a team-high 12 points for the Nighthawks. Danny Armstrong provided 10 points and 7 boards.
Potomac State will be back in action on Saturday, January 14, in a 2 p.m. matchup against CCBC Essex. The Catamounts will return home Wednesday, January 18, to take on Allegany College of Maryland at Lough Gym. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
