Potomac State pushes win streak to nine with sweep over Cecil

Keyser, WV- Potomac State swept a pair of games over Ceil College 12-7 and 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Golden Park to increase the Catamounts win streak to nine. 
 
Cecil jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on five straight singles in the opening frame.
 
Potomac State answered in the bottom half with a six spot. 
 
Chris Harbert tripled in the opening frame to score two runs.  Ryan Conrad followed with an RBI single. 
 
Tanner Haskiell then hit a two-run home run in the inning in which PSC would send ten batters to the plate. 
 
A double from Seth Healy finished the scoring as PSC took a 6-3 lead. 
 
Cecil closed the gap to 6-5 in the third inning, but the Catamounts answered with three runs to increase the lead to 9-3.  Highlighting the inning were three singles from Healy, Braden Sloan and Lex Wescott.
 
Gavin Bennett relieved an injured Cooper Polcovich in the second inning and picked up the win with five innings of work.  The freshman allowed just three hits and struck out five. 
 
PSC picked up three runs in the fourth inning highlighted by RBI's from Healy and Sloan. 
 
In game two, PSC played small ball taking advantage of five walks from Cecil pitchers and three Seahawk errors. Four of the five walks scored, as PSC ran away with the 7-0 win.
 
Harbert homered in the fifth inning, his second of the season.
 
Lance Hartley was in command on the mound going 5 1/3 innings, striking out nine walking two and allowing just two hits.
 
Potomac State, 10-6 will be right back at home on Sunday with a doubleheader against Marietta College at 1PM.
