Boober picks up Potomac State on the mound for split at Cecil

North East, MD- Carson Boober pitched a gem in the opening game on Sunday tossing 5 scoreless innings, allowing just 5 hits and striking out 4 to earn the win in a 5-0 shutout.

Chris Harbert closed the game with 2 hitless innings and struck out 5 to notch the save.

Game 1 – Potomac State 5, Cecil College 0

WVU Potomac State opened the doubleheader with a dominant 5–0 shutout victory over Cecil College behind strong pitching and opportunistic hitting.

Potomac State capitalized on Cecil's defensive miscues (3 errors), scoring three unearned runs. Lex Wescott went 2-for-4 with an RBI for PSC.  Chris Harbert helped his own cause driving in two runs.  Seth Healy began his  strong day with 2 hits and an RBI, including a double.


Game 2 – Cecil College 7, Potomac State 4

Cecil College bounced back in Game 2 with an early surge, holding off a late rally by Potomac State to secure a 7–4 win and split the doubleheader.

The Seahawks jumped out early, plating 2 runs in the 1st and adding 5 more by the 4th inning.

Gio Malatesta was a key catalyst, going 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs, including a 2-run double in the 1st.  Matt Jackson contributed an RBI single and drew 3 walks.

The Catamounts were held scoreless through 6 innings by Ben Campbell (6 IP, 2 H, 0 R).

A late surge came from the Catamounts came in the In the 7th, they erupted for 4 runs, highlighted by a 3-run homer from Seth Healy.

Cecil's relievers Jonathan Mason and Ty Whittaker withstood the late surge, with Whittaker earning the save.
