Potomac State Baseball Player Diary 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Potomac State Baseball player diary homepage. This season, Sophomores Jake Compton (Mentor, OH / Mentor High School, Chris Harbert (Bridgeport High School / Bridgeport, WV), and Tanner Haskiell (Southern High School / Terra Alta, WV) will take the lead on the Potomac State Baseball Player Diary.

Hello Catamount Nation welcome back to week 13 of Potomac State Baseball Player Diary. After a long stretch of canceled games, the catamounts finally got to play including a single nine inning game versus Allegheny Community College, a double header versus Harford Community College, and a double header versus Shenandoah University. A few players also made the trip north to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play and we also have some footage from a late-night tarp duty.

To start this week’s player diary, we had a nine inning mid-week game versus Allegheny CC. This was a hard-fought win lead by the Catamounts pitching performance as Aiden Sites lead the way with 6 stellar innings. Through 6 innings he allowed 5 hits allowing 0 runs and recording 6 strike outs. After sites Lester got the ball for one inning giving up two hits but not allowing a run. Chris Harbert came in for the closing act as he allowed no hits through two innings walking one and striking out two.  The Catamount bats added to the battle as they put up seven runs against a strong pitching staff. Lex Wescott led the way with a double and home run recording 4 RBI’s. Just behind him was Seth Healy recording 3 RBIs along with a double. Potomac State was also running on the base paths as Chris Harbert and Lex Wescott both stole a base while Reilly Bubb stole three.

The weekend was a battle for the Catamounts as they ended up going 0-4 in 4 hard fought games. Including a 10-inning game two battle versus Harford. Harley and Jenkins both showed their ability to pitch and battle against the best as they both had stellar outings against Harford. Hartley going 4 strong innings only allowing two earned runs. While Jenkins went 6.2 innings only allowing 2 earned runs. Every time we have played Harford it has been a battle so this should make for a good region 20 tournament.
We also dropped a pair of games to Shenandoah University however Landon Perry made the most of those games as he had a multi-hit game in game 1 including a two-run homer as well as getting his first career innings on the mound in game two.

A few players decided to make the most of an off day and take a trip up north to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates play. The reason for them going being Paul Skenes was pitching, the organizer (and hard pusher for making it happen) was Hunter Krotzer who is from Pennsylvania and a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan. The Pirates lost and Skenes gave up the most runs of his short career so far so maybe Krotzer brought them bad luck. However, he still has his hopes high for the Pirates this year.
