Potomac State bats come to life in sweep over Catonsville

Catonsville, MD- Potomac State combined for twenty hits in Sunday's doubleheader sweep over CCBC Catonsville.

Potomac State won the opener 13-3 in five innings and rallied for a 15-12 win in the nightcap.

Caden Goodwin delivered another strong start for the Catamounts as the sophomore went the distance striking out five and scattering five hits.  His record improves to 3-2.

Nik Rubendall and Jimmy Sadler led Potomac State with two hits apiece.

Sadler and Aiden Milton each drove in three runs to pace the Catamount attack.

Nick Stergiou led the Cardinals with a pair of hits, while Zach Gaynor hit a solo home run.

In game two, Rubendall, Chris Harbert and Tanner Haskiell each went deep for PSC.

The Cardinals added two bombs of their own from Trenton Snyder and Virgil Watson.

The back-and-forth affair was not settled until the last inning when PSC added five runs in the top of the seventh.

Cam Reed picked up the win three innings of relief work.  Aidan Sites came on to retire the final batter to pick up his first save.

Reilly Bubb finished with three hits for the Catamounts, driving in three.  Haskiell also drove tin the three, while Rubendall led all hitters with four RBI's.

Catonsville got three RBI's each from Tyler Sankovich, Stregiou and Snyder. 

The Cardinals drop to 19-14 while PSC improved to 14-15.

The Catamounts will be home on Tuesday for a twin bill with Shenandoah University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
