Potomac State Baseball 2024 Player Diary Week 14

Welcome to the 2024 Potomac State Baseball player diary homepage. This season, Sophomores Ben McDougal (Bridgeport High School / Bridgeport, WV), and Kris Sutton (Cobb County High School / Calhoun, GA) will take the lead on the Potomac State Baseball Player Diary.

Welcome back Catamount faithful and as always, thank you for tuning into this week’s Player Diary. This week is a busy week for the guys with a mid-week intrasquad and a big weekend series against CCBC Catonsville.

To start the week off Coach Little scheduled a four inning intrasquad letting pitchers that did not get to pitch last week see live hitters and for hitters to see live arms to get ready for the weekend. The pitchers went out and threw forty five pitches to stay up to speed. While the hitters bought in to our approaches and fought, giving the pitchers a real challenge. With the weather not going as planned it started to rain but we still got through our intrasquad.

For the second year in a row, we had the question “who would you not let date your daughter?”. Most of the guys said the same person being Maddox Brooks and Cooper Polcovich.

As for our big weekend series against CCBC Catonsville the guys were super excited. The day started off by the guys getting to the field at 8:00 to pack the bus and get ready for the three-hour road trip. After we arrived, we settle in and stretch out. Game one rolls around with sophomore pitcher Caden Goodwin comes out and does his thing with a complete game with five strikeouts. With the hitters putting together quality at bats Jimmy Sadler going 2-2 with 2 RBI, Aidan Milton 1-2 with 3 RBI and Gage Bibey, Nik Rubendall, and Tanner Haskiell with an RBI to pull together a good team win. With Game two Cooper Polcovich, Cam Reed, and Aidan Sites all strung together to pitch an amazing game to get the win. Nik Rubendall, Chris Harbort, and Tanner Haskiell all hit a homerun in game two. With the games on the line there was a spark that went off in the dugout that made all of the guys have a lot of energy and scratched and clawed to get the win.

Make sure to stop by Golden Park this Saturday to watch the guys play Hagerstown Community College for a double header beginning at 1pm.

Thank you for tuning into this week's Player Diary and I hope you get a chance to watch the video version of this week as well.
