Catamounts drop pair to Monroe

Keyser, WV- Strong pitching and timely hitting led Monroe College to a sweep over Potomac State by scores of 7-1 and 4-2.

In the opener, Monroe starter Carlos Peguero struck out seven and allowed just four hits for the complete game win.  PSC's Jake Arnold took the loss despite striking out 12 Mustang hitters.

Ronald Almanzar led the way for Monroe with two runs batted in with a single and a sacrifice fly.

Kris Sutton had two hits and scored the lone PSC run.

In game two, Andrelys Payamps threw a gem for Monroe, delivering another complete game effort.  The right-hander struck out eight and walked for to improve to 5-3.

Gilbert Gomez had three hits and an RBI for Monroe.  Diego Urreta and Jeremy De La Mota each added a run batted in.
