Potomac State uses long ball to sweep pair over Catonsville

Catonsville, MD- Dakota Miller hit three home runs and Potomac State belted five in all during Sunday's sweep over CCBC Catonsville.

PSC won the opener 11-5 and the nightcap 11-6.

Miller hit two 2-run home runs in the opener and another 2-run shot in game two.  Joining Miller in the homer brigade was Jimmy Sadler and Morgan Little.

In game one, Brady Whitacre's two run pinch hit double broke a 5-all tie in the sixth inning to give the Catamounts the lead. 

Xander Meckley shut the door on the mound striking out six Cardinal hitters.

Chris Curler picked up the win with two innings of relief work for starter Colby Heiser.  Curler allowed just one unearned run and struck out three to improve to 2-0.

Nik Rubendall, Zach Brennan, Cam Cole and Little each added two hits for the Catamounts, who out hit Catonsville 13-8.

Miles Bowens went deep for Catonsville.

In game two, PSC starter Chase Lautner struck out seven in four innings to pick up the win and reliver Aidan Van Rider struck out another seven in three innings of work to close out the game.

Chance Satcho and Whitacre added a pair of hits for Potomac State.

Moises Aristry homered for the Cardinals.

Potomac State has now won eight in a row and improved to 24-12.  They will travel to Hagerstown Community College for a doubleheader on Monday afternoon beginning at 1pm.
