Potomac State scores in bunches in sweep over Garrett

Keyser, WV- Potomac State swept a pair of games over Garrett College on Thursday afternoon at Golden Park by scores of 18-0 and 13-6.

Jimmy Sadler drove in four runs in the opening game with a single and a double.  Nik Rubendall homered and singled and drove in two runs.  Zach Brennan drove in three with a pair of singles.

Alexander Meckley picked up the win with a 5-inning complete game effort.   The sophomore struck out eight to raise his season strikeout total to 40 in 18 innings pitched.  Meckley's strikeout to nine innings pitched ratio is 20.00 which is first in NJCAA Division I baseball.

In all Potomac State banged out 16 hits in the run-rules shortened game.  Chance Satcho and Diego Barrett each added three hits.

In game two Potomac State used an eight-run third inning to catapult to the win.

Brennan hit a two-run home run and singled while Morgan Little drove in five runs with two singles and a double.

Rubendall and Came Cole also added two hits apiece.

Tyler Henshaw started and went four innings to improve to 3-1.  The southpaw struck out four and walked just one.  Chase Lautner and Anthony Dixon each worked to close out the game.

Potomac State improves to 9-5 and will play at Shenandoah on Saturday and host Ceil College on Sunday.
