Big bats lead Potomac State to sweep over Catonsville

Keyser, WV- Potomac State banged out eighteen hits in the opening game of their sweep over Catonsville on Wednesday afternoon.  Leading the way were Anthony Swenda and Brady Whitacre as the Catamounts rallied for a 12-5 win.

Swenda went 4-5, with three single and a double and an RBI, while Whitacre was a perfect 4-4 with four base hits and pair of runs batted in.

Caleb Taylor added three hits; a single and two doubles, with 2 RBI as PSC scored nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings. 

Clay Maholic added two hits and an RBI.

Chris Curler picked up the win in relief for the Catamounts as the freshman was nearly flawless in three innings of work.  Curler struck out five and walked just one in three scoreless innings.

In game two the offense continued the onslaught as the blanked the Cardinals 10-0 in a five-inning affair.

Morgan Little lead the attack with a single and three-run home run.  Dakota Miller and Josh Hoffman each added a pair of hits as PSC tallied 12 hits.

Owen Keim picked the win to remain perfect on the year raising his record to 3-0.  The righthander struck out seven and walked none in four innings of work.

Potomac State, 14-8  returns the trip to CCBC Catonsville on Saturday for a pair of games at 1pm.
