Marietta, OH- Caleb Taylor had a day.
The Potomac State backstop had been struggling through the opening weeks of the 2022 season, but on Sunday the Morgantown, WV native got healthy.
Taylor went 6-9 on the day with five doubles, a homerun and drove in seven runs as Potomac State split a pair of games with Marietta College dropping the opener 6-5 and winning the nightcap 14-13.
In game one PSC rallied for four runs in the seventh to overcome a 4-1 deficit before allowing a game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh that was followed by a walk-off winning single.
Game two was a slugfest with the Catamounts jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Marietta tied the game at four-all in the bottom of the third. PSC again jumped ahead to a 10-6 lead, but Marietta re-tied the game at 10-10.
Marietta took a 1-run lead in the sixth needing three outs to pick up the win.
The Catamounts then exploded for four runs to take a 14-10 lead and held on for a 14-13 win.
Josh Hoffman led PSC with four hits while Dakota Miler drove in three runs.
After a schedule change, Potomac State (8-8) will host Seton Hill for a single game on Tuesday March 22 at Golden Park beginning at 3:30p.m.
