Catamounts pick up three wins on weekend

On Saturday, the Catamounts made their first ever trip to Youngwood, PA to face Westmoreland County Community College.

In the opener, Brandon Schaeffer continued to impress as the southpaw struck out 10 in a six-inning mercy ruled complete game 10-0 shutout.  Schaeffer allowed just four hits, walked none to improve to 6-0 on the year.

Graham Brown led PSC with a pair of hits and three runs batted in.  Caleb Taylor and Dakota Miller each had 2RBI's. 

In game two Zack Whitacre drove in three runs, stole four bases and had a pair of hits to lead Potomac State to a 9-4 win.

Josh Hoffman and Wil Schoonover each added two hits.

Robert Kelley picked up the win to improve to 6-0.  The freshman went 4 2/3 innings striking out six.


On Sunday, the Catamounts traveled to Arnold, MD to face Anne Arundel Community College for a single game and walked away with a 15-2 win. 

Trevor Thomas picked up the win on the mound by going six innings and allowing just two runs.  Thomas scattered three hits and threw just 63 pitches to complete six frames.

Potomac State scored in every inning and was highlighted by home runs from Josh Hoffman and Jack Hoeymans.  Hoeymans and Graham Brown each finished with three runs batted in.

PSC took advantage of ten walked by the Riverhawks' pitchers.


The Catamounts game scheduled at Garrett College on Wednesday has been postponed due to snow in the forecast.

That puts the key Region XX twin bill with Hagerstown on Saturday April 24th as the next games for PSC.
