Baseball: Webb's two-hitter leads Potomac State's victory

WINCHESTER, Va. — Colt Webb pitched a complete game two-hitter and Potomac State put up a 5-spot in the third and followed that with four runs in the fourth to put away the Shenandoah Junior Varsity, 11-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Webb took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before Storm Grant led off with a double. After a strikeout and a hit by pitch, Webb got a double play to end the inning. Shenandoah’s other hit came in the sixth on a one-out single, but Webb got another double play on the very next batter to end the inning.

Webb struck out seven while throwing 76 pitches.

Dale Houser led the Catamount offense, going 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs. Joel Spishock added a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Austin Martin doubled, singled, drew a walk and scored three times from the leadoff spot. Cole Miller singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Potomac State (10-4) hosts CCAC-Boyce in a doubleheader today at 1 p.m.
