Women’s Basketball: Potomac State drops season opener

Catonsville, Md. – The Potomac State College women's basketball team dropped their 2019-20 season opener to CCBC Catonsville Cardinals 82-50 Saturday afternoon at Catonsville.

The Cardinals raced out to a 51-19 halftime lead against the slow-starting Catamounts and coasted the rest of the way for the win.

Potomac State was led by Jalynn Montgomery and Alexis Turner with 13 points each.  Erica Merrill led PSC in rebounding with 10.

Catonsville's Nakiiyah Johnson led all scorers with 20 points and also had 10 rebounds. Tylea Gallaway barely missed a triple-double with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Catamounts (0-1) open their home season on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Lough Gymnasium when they host Butler County Community College.
