The WVU Potomac State Men's Soccer team won in solid fashion against Carroll CC on Tuesday, August 27th. They would score 7 unanswsered goals before the Lynx would finally put in two of their own. Starting the goal fury was freshman Mateo Miranda who scored unassisted in the 8th minute. Very quickly in the 10th minute Freshamn Jean Wicarl Vales scored with an assist from sophomore Jayson Gordon. Vales would net another one in the 14th minute but this time with the help of fellow freshman Hasan Azam. Miranda put his 2nd goal in the net in the 18th minute to make the score 4-0 off a Matthiew Baudry assist. Vales would then provide an assist for Jayson Gordon to make the score 5-0 in the 23rd. Miranda would add one more goal in the first half to give the Catamounts a solid 6-0 lead going into halftime.
Shortly after the start of the 2nd half, Jayson Gordon would score for the final Catamount goal off of a Vales assist. The Lynx, however, were determined to not allow the shutout to stand, and they found the net in the 51st and 78th minutes to end the game 7-2 overall. The Catamounts outshot the Lynx 30-12 and Peyton Thomassy recorded 5 saves in the win for the Catamounts.
