Single goal enough for Hawks to best Catamounts

Single goal enough for Hawks to best Catamounts

Keyser, WV

Coming off their recent tie against Frederick the Catamounts were looking for ways to generate more offensive attack against the College of Southern Maryland. The first half saw 8 shots by CSM and 7 by Potomac State, and clear adjustments at halftime lead to a strong defensive presence.  At the end of the contest Potomac State had outshot the Hawks 15-12.  The trio of Edwin Gonzales, Grant Dadisman, and Will Lapid accounted for most of the shots, but none of the Catamounts were able to get past the CSM goalkeeper.  The two teams had been scheduled to play earlier in the year, but lightning caused the game to be moved to the 17th, which also saw poor weather.  The teams endured heavy rain through most of the contest, making the ball difficult to handle and passes being tested for accuracy frequently.

CSM scored in the 65th minute and that would ultimately be the only goal of the contest.  The Catamounts are now 1-2-2 overall, with their next contest a week away on the 23rd of September.
