Catamounts Season Ends in OT Thriller

The #3 seed Catamounts Faced #2 seed Frederick CC in the Region 20 Division II Tournament Semifinal match in Dundalk Thursday afternoon. The Catamounts came back from a 2-0 deficit to force overtime, but the Cougars would find the game winner in the 5th minute of overtime. Potomac State ends the season with an 9-7-1 record. Frederick CC improves to 12-4-0 and advances to the Region 20 Division II Final when they will meet CCBC Essex.

After a scoreless first half, The Cougars were able to find the back of the net for the first goal of the game in the 69th minute. Just a little over a minute later, Frederick would make it 2-0 with twenty minutes left in regulation.

The Catamounts were able to cut the deficit to one when Samuel Otalora Riano scored in the 75th minute with an assist from Mason Orndorff. Then, in the 82nd minute, Orndorff would make it 2-2, scoring off a free kick. 

Both teams came out strong in overtime, but the Courgars were able to find the game winner in the 5th minute of overtime.

Catamounts goalkeeper Tim Bailey played all 95 minutes in net making 10 saves on 13 shots on goal.
