Potomac State Soccer Beats Christendom, 2-1

Catamounts Score Early, Defend Crusaders Late

After starting the season 1-4 the WVU Potomac State College men's soccer team entered Thursday's match against Christendom College ready to play.

The Catamounts opened the game with two early goals. Jacob Ritchie scored on a Christopher Burton assist in the 2nd minute and Noah Stanley notched an unassisted tally in the 3rd minute. PSC maintained control throughout the first half allowing only one shot on goal and entering halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half was played evenly with the Christendom able to get 3 shots on goal while Potomac State was on frame twice. Despite the Catamounts strong play defensively and throughout the midfield the Crusaders were able to find the back of the net in the 83rd minute. The PSC defense was able to stave off any further attacks and earn 2-1 victory.

Tim Bailey notched 2 saves in goal for the Catamounts earning his second win of the season and teammate Julian Westfall closed out the game in goal recording zero saves.

Potomac State improves to 2-4 on the season. Their next match is on Tuesday when they host the CCBC Catonsville at 6 p.m.
