Potomac State College soccer tops Patrick Henry College, 4-0

Purcelville, Va. – The WVU Potomac State College men's soccer team were on the road Tuesday to take on Patrick Henry College. The Catamounts earned a 4-0 win over the 4-year college, evening their record at 5-5-1 for the season.

Jacob Ritchie got the Catamounts on the board first with an unassisted goal early in the first half. The goal was Ritchie's fifth on the season. Midway through the half, Mason Macher hit a shot from outside the 18-yard box that slipped past the Patrick HHHenry goalkeeper.

Potomac State held a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Jack Mehosky volleyed a Bryan Acosta feed on a set piece to open the second-half scoring and increase Potomac State's advantage to 3-0.

The Catamounts would find the goal one last time when Dustin Simmons played a corner kick to Braedon Recore who connected on a header for a final score of 4-0.

The Catamount men's soccer team has only one loss in their last 6 games, with 4 wins and a tie over that span. Potomac State's .500 winning percentage marks the first time they have a winning record in October since holding a 4-4-2 record the first week of October during the 2016 season.

Potomac State plays the Hagerstown Community College on Saturday, October 16th at 2:30 p.m. as part of the 2021 Homecoming Weekend.
