Catamounts hold off Nighthawks in 96-89 win

The Catamounts beat the Nighthawks 96-89 in the Region 20 Division II battle at Lough Gymansium.  Five Catamounts hit double digit points in the win and the Potomac State bench contributed in a big way, adding 42 points to the scoreboard. 

In the first half the Catamounts put away 54 points with Camren Wilkes leading the team in 13 points.  They put up 54% from the field, 50% of 3 pointers, and made 75% of their free throws in the first half.  Heading into halftime they led by 14 points over NOVA.  

In the second half, the lead got cut, but the Catamounts shot 86.7% from the line and in the end were able to lock in the win.  Overall the Catamounts shot 41% from the 3pt line, 45.7% from the field, and 81.5% in free throws. The Catamounts also outrebounded the Nighthawks 38-28 and only committed 7 turnovers.  Eugene Bryant secured the double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Wilkes, Bryant, Damian Thompson, Rodney Vilsaint, and Tyreke Williams netted double digits for the Catamounts. This win moves the Catamounts to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in Region 20 Division II.
