| Title: | Assistant Softball Coach |
WVU Potomac State College has announced the addition of former Catamount standout Chloe Greise as the new assistant coach for the softball program.
Greise, an NJCAA All-American in 2024 and two-time NFCA All-East First Team pitcher, returns to Keyser after one of the most decorated playing careers in Potomac State history. Over the course of her career, she earned First Team All-Region 20 and NFCA All-East First Team honors in both 2024 and 2025, while also being selected to the All-Tournament Team each season. Her individual recognition reached the national stage in 2025, when she was named NJCAA Region 20 Athlete of the Month for March, NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week (Week 14), and Potomac State Female Athlete of the Year.
On the field, Greise cemented herself in the Catamount record books, establishing program records for wins in a single season with 32, career wins with 54, and career strikeouts with 437. She concluded her career with a 54-9 overall record, two saves, and a 2.07 ERA, consistently ranking among the nation's top five pitchers in multiple statistical categories during both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Head Coach Chris Greise expressed excitement about Greise joining the staff, "Chloe has been a cornerstone of our program as a player, setting the standard with her excellence on the field. We are thrilled to have a Catamount great giving back to the team in a coaching role. Her experience, work ethic, and understanding of what it means to be a Catamount will be invaluable to our student-athletes."
Greise will join the coaching staff immediately as the Catamounts prepare for the upcoming season, with her primary focus on coaching the pitching staff.
