Bailey to lead Men’s Soccer Team

Keyser, WV

WVU Potomac State Athletic Director Mandi Larkin has announced the hiring of Timothy Bailey as the Catamounts next Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Bailey is no stranger to the WVU Potomac State campus, having been a member of the men's soccer team starting back in 2021. During his time as a Catamount he helped lead his team to the most wins since the 2014 season.

"It is always special when an alum wishes to return as a coach," said WVU Potomac State Athletic Director Mandi Larkin.  "They bring a passion for the program and school and an automatic comfort level with recruiting to the institution."

Most recently, Bailey has been coaching with BVB International Academy based in Morgantown, WV.  Over the past several years, his tenure has been marked by a strong focus on player development and performance enhancement, having implemented comprehensive training programs aimed at improving players' skills both on and off the field, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment.  BVB Academy is in connection with Borussia Dortmund's Academy in Dortmund Germany and the American Academy was founded on the three core pillars of character, quality, and tradition.

"We are excited to see the coaching education from the BVB Academy translate to the collegiate game through Coach Bailey," said Larkin. "His coaching education, combined with his experience in NJCAA competition and with the Keyser campus, look to be an exciting foundation to build success."

While at Potomac State, Bailey achieved NJCAA Region 20 First Team honors in back to back years.  He also earned NJCAA Region 20 All-Tournament Team honors and was awarded the Catamounts Excellence in Sport Performance Yearly Award for Freshman of the Year.

"I am thankful for this opportunity to coach at the program where I started my collegiate playing career," said Bailey.  "I am looking forward to leading the team to success on the field, but also connecting with the regional soccer community and seeking ways for the team to serve through our sport."

Bailey is a graduate of University High School who owns his own business in Morgantown, WV.
