Takoma Park, Md. – The WVU Potomac Sate College women's basketball team fell behind early and scrapped their way back in the game before finally succumbing to the Montgomery College Raptors 81-56 Thursday night at Washington Adventist University.

Montgomery College started fast compared to the slow starting Catamounts. The Raptors held a 26-9 lead after the first quarter. PSC leveled the play slightly in the second quarter but still trailed 42-26 at halftime.

The Catamounts defense fueled a strong third quarter charge, outscoring the Raptors 23-8 and cutting the deficit to seven points, 50-43. However, Montgomery College turned the tables in the final period. PSC didn't handle the full-court press well, allowing Montgomery to race away with the victory.

Potomac State's Jalynn Montgomery's scored a team-high 16 points. Danijah Allen also scored double-figures for the Catamounts with 14 points and contributed eight rebounds.

Potomac State, now 2-3 on the season, will play again Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2:00 p.m. in NJCAA Region XX Division II action at CCBC Essex.
