Leighty Collects Four Hits As Potomac State College Defeats Northern Virginia Community College

Allison Leighty had the hot hand on Thursday, tallying four hits and leading Potomac State College to a 22-1 victory over Northern Virginia Community College. Leighty singled in the second, homered in the second, doubled in the third, and doubled in the fourth. 

Potomac State College secured the victory thanks to 17 runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Potomac State College was ledby Taylor Townsend, Shyann Farris, Leighty, Josie DeneenHalei Johnsonand Madison Andersonwho each had RBIs in the inning.

Townsend pitched Potomac State College to victory. She surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out five and walking zero.Kyler Cosgrove threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Berith Austin took the loss for Northern Virginia Community College. She went two innings, allowing 20 runs on 19 hits.

Potomac State College launched four home runs on the day. Johnson went deep in the second inning. Leighty had a dinger in the second inning. Anderson had a four bagger in the second inning. Camryn Blacka put one out in the third inning. 

Potomac State College tallied 23 hits in the game. LeightyDeneenTownsend, Lauren White, Johnson, Lexi Trickett, and Anderson all managed multiple hits for Potomac State College. Leighty went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Potomac State College in hits. Potomac State College didn't commit a single error in the field. White had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
