Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Potomac State College fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-6 loss to Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks on Sunday. Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks scored on a error in the first inning, a groundout by Brooke Morton in the first inning, a single by Emily Lowrance in the second inning, and a single by Katelynn Miles in the second inning.

Despite the loss, Potomac State College did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks had 14 hits on the way to victory.

In the bottom of the first inning, Potomac State College tied things up at three. Josie Deneendrove in three when she homered.

Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Lowrance singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Miles singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Mauri Viness pitched Chesapeake Community College Skipjacks to victory. She allowed nine hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out two.

Shyann Farris took the loss for Potomac State College. She surrendered nine runs on 14 hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Potomac State College launched one home run on the day. Deneen had a homer in the first inning.
