Potomac State sweeps pair over Glenville

GLENVILLE, W.Va. — Potomac State College swept a pair at Glenville State Wednesday afternoon, taking the first game 11-3 and the second 14-5.

In the opener, the Catamounts spotted the Pioneers three runs, then bounced back with two in the second, five in the third and three in the fourth to put the game away.

Austin Chavis, Joel Spishock, Pete Costigan and Abe Stearns all knocked in two runs for the Cats, with Chavis and Costigan both hitting a double and a triple and Austin Martin two doubles.

Spishock and Sterns both doubled and singled.

In the second game, the Catamounts (26-6) rapped out 16 hits and overcame a 4-0 first inning deficit.

Spishock went 4 for 4 and knocked in five runs. Martin was 3 for 4, walked twice, scored twice and knocked in a run. Dale Houser singled and doubled and knocked in two runs.
