16 Potomac State Athletes Receive All-Academic Honors

6 Catamounts named First Team All-Academic

Keyser, W.Va. - The National Junior College Athletic Association recently announced the recognition of 16 West Virginia University Potomac State College athletes with All-Academic honors.

To be recognized on an NJCAA All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.6 grade-point average (GPA) or above on a 4.0 scale while completing two full-time semesters. There are three NJCAA All-Academic teams: First-Team (4.00 GPA), Second-Team (3.80 to 3.99 GPA) and Third-Team (3.60 to 3.79 GPA).

Seven Catamounts earned First-Team All-Academic honors with a 4.00 GPA: (pictured above, from left to right) Hanna Slider (volleyball), Madison Anderson (softball), Bradley Sisler (men’s lacrosse) Dale Houser (baseball), Jake Ours (baseball), Tobias Holmelund (baseball) and Seth Leedom (men’s basketball).

All-Academic Second-Team honorees, a total of five, include: Lexis Trickett (softball), Shyann Farris (softball), Andrew Berry (baseball), William Whiteman (baseball) and Carla Cook (women’s basketball).

Rounding out the 16 Potomac State recipients are four Catamount Third-Team All-Academic athletes: Autumn Fogle (softball), Lauren White (softball), Foster Conis (baseball) and Brielle Kunis (women’s basketball).

Nationally, a total of 6,656 student-athletes were recognized as All-Academic with 1,552 receiving first-team honors. The NJCAA has recognized annually the academic success of its student-athletes since 1983.
