Mo Pratt joined the staff of WVU Potomac State College as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and Sports Information Director in April 2019.
Entering the 2019 season Pratt was tasked with rebuilding the Potomac State women's soccer team from scratch after the program spent the 2018 season in dormancy. Operating on a shortened recruiting cycle, Pratt and his staff built a team of 14 members that finished the season with 3 wins and 9 losses. Of the 9 losses, three were 1 goal deficits, including one in overtime. Pratt and his returning players are looking forward to a traditional recruiting cycle and a full compliment of players paired with productive off-season for the 2020-21 season.
Pratt has coached soccer on various levels more than 30 years. At the high school level, he served as an assistant on the Mountain Ridge High School (Frostburg, MD) and Beall High School (Frostburg, MD) girls’ teams for a total of 10 years. Those teams combined for 6 Cumberland Times News Area Championships and produced 6 Players’ of the Year, 2 Offensive POY’s and 4 Defensive POY’s.
Pratt earned boys’ high school experience when he served as the assistant at Mt. Savage (MD) High School for 6 years. There he worked under Coach George Bishields, who at the time was the winningest all-time coach in Maryland high school soccer history.
Recently Coach Pratt served as a Board Member of the Frostburg Soccer Club and coached three FSC teams. He currently is coaching both the U18 and U16 boys’ teams of the Appalachian United Soccer Club.
A native of Mt. Savage, MD. Pratt earned his bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation/Teacher Education with a Coaching Concentration from Frostburg State University. Pratt has earned a USSF “D” license and holds Developmental Diplomas through United Soccer Coaches.
Pratt resides in Mt. Savage, MD with his wife Christina and son, Owen.
