Benjamin Kelly; LAT, ATC, ITAT joined the West Virginia University Potomac State College athletic department as Athletic Trainer in August 2015.

Kelly works with all Potomac State College athletes with a primary attachment to the Volleyball, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Softball and Baseball teams. Prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries are the focus of Kelly’s duties.

Kelly also manages the inventory of clinical supplies as well as individual athlete’s insurance, rehabilitation and treatment forms.

Kelly previously served as the first Head athletic Trainer at Allegany College of Maryland where he designed rehabilitation programs, performed fitness evaluations, ensured proper equipment maintenance and instructed athletes on the use and care of orthopedic appliances.

In addition to being a licensed athletic trainer, Kelly is a Certified Track Official with the National Federation of State High School Associations, a United States of America Track and Field Official and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Kelly earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Frostburg State University, in Frostburg, MD. While there he gained more than 600 hours of clinical experience as an athletic trainer taping, bracing, evaluating and rehabilitating athletes. Kelly has presented lectures to high school athletes in the areas of concussions, hydration and proper clinical care.
