Heavener's attack leads Catamounts to win

The excitement in Lough Gymnasium was off the charts.  After going down 0-2 against the Hagerstown Hawks, the Catamounts rallied to win 3-2.  Hagerstown defense was on fire all night, proving to be an immense challenge to Potomac State. Over the course of the five sets, the Catamounts had 196 total attempts and fans got to watch rally after rally of excellent play on both sides of the court.  

 

For the Catamounts, Kaitlin Heavener led the attack with 24 kills on the night, finding the slightest hole in the Hagerstown defense.  Emonie Fennel notched 21, and Brinlee Harris had 11. Defensively for the Catamounts Jillian Britton had 33 digs, but Heavener and Fennel also contributed with 30 and 23 digs.  Kyra Davis and Kamryn Feehan split the assists in helping to earn the win. 

 

If you missed this match, you certainly missed out on some of the most thrilling volleyball the region has experienced so far this year.  With this win, the Catamounts improve to 13-3 and 12-3 in Region 20 DII competition. Up next for the Catamounts, they travel to Cecil College on Saturday, October 14th for a 1pm match.
