Shoemaker Named NJCAA Softball DII Player of the Week

Potomac State softball freshman Alexa Shoemaker has showed her dominance at the plate time and time again this season. This week her performance earned her NJCAA Softball Division II Player of the Week honors. Shoemaker helped her team to a 5-0 record on the week of all road games. She finished the week with a .722 AVG, 5 HR, 16 RBIs , and 12 runs to recieve the week 9 Player of the Week. 

Shoemaker started the week with a DH against Hagerstown Community College. She went 3-4 in game 1 with 3 runs. She doubled twice and homered once bringing in 6 RBIs. Game 2 she hit a homerun with 3RBIs and 2 runs. The Catamounts then traveled to (RV) Deleware Teachnical Community College for three game weekend. On Saturday, they played DH in which Shoemaker went 7-8 on the day with 5 runs, a double, 2 homeruns, and 6 RBIs. The next day, she went 2-4, doubled and homered once, with 2 runs and a 1 RBI. 

Shoemaker has been a huge part of the Catamounts success this seaosn. One the year she has a batting average of .600, 17 HRs, 65 RBIs, 61 runs, and 9 stolen bases. In NJCAA Division II softball, she is currently ranked 3rd for batting average, 15th in RBIs, and 12th in Homeruns.
