Peace Named NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Week

Potomac State softball freshman Pitcher Abby Peace proved how dominate of a season she's having by earning NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week honors. Peace also recently recieved Division II Region 20 Player of the Month for March. Peace finished the week with a 2-0 record, 0 ER, 2 Hits, and 25 Strikeouts to recieve the week 7 Pitcher of the Week. At the plate, she contributed 5 RBIs and 3 homeruns.

Peace started the week with 7 innings pitched against Penn State Mont Alto allowing only 2 hits and striking out 13 in a 11-0 Catamount win. At the plate, she had 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs. The next day, she pitched a no-hitter in a 11-0 win against College of Southern Maryland. She finished the game with 12 strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. At the plate, she had 1 homerun and 2 RBIs.

A huge part of the Catamounts success this season is thanks to Peace who has a 12-0 record and 1 save in 74.2 innings pitched with 142 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA. In NJCAA Division II softball, her 142 strikeouts has her ranked 9th and she is currently tied for 16th in wins (12). At the plate, she has a .388 AVG with 40 RBIs, and 12 homeruns which has her is tied for 22nd in NJCAA.
