Six RBI Day For Allison Leighty Seals The Deal In Potomac State College's Victory Over Westmoreland County Community College

Six runs batted in from Allison Leighty helped lead Potomac State College past Westmoreland County Community College 29-4 on Tuesday. Leighty drove in runs on a single in the second, a grand slam in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.

Potomac State College earned the victory despite allowing Westmoreland County Community College to score three runs in the fifth inning. Alexis McKnightBrianna McCulley, and Hope Hixson all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Westmoreland County Community College got things moving in the first inning. McCulley hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Potomac State College pulled away for good with ten runs in the second inning. In the second Madison Anderson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Lauren White singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Leighty singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Josie Deneenhomered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs, Taylor Townsend singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Anderson homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Potomac State College scored 12 runs in the fourth inning. Potomac State College's big bats in the inning were led by home runs by Shyann FarrisAutumn FogleLeighty, and Halei Johnson and a groundout by Kyler Cosgrove.

Townsend earned the win for Potomac State College. She surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Hixson took the loss for Westmoreland County Community College. She went three and a third innings, allowing 28 runs on 21 hits.

Potomac State College socked six home runs on the day. Farris went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Fogle had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Johnson went yard in the fourth inning. Leighty had a long ball in the fourth inning. Anderson had a homer in the second inning. Deneen went for the long ball in the second inning.
