Keyser, W.Va. – The WVU Potomac State College Esports Rocket League No. 1 team placed 13 out of 90 teams Sunday evening in round 2 of the Collegiate Rocket League qualifying.  The Sunday performance wrapped up a busy week for the Catamount gamers.

On Wednesday the Potomac State Call of Duty No. 1 team opened play in the qualifying rounds for the Tespa National Tournament, scheduled for November 7th and 8th. Consisting of Ryan Hess and Richard Kelley, the PSC gamers started play Wednesday with consecutive 2-0 wins over Osk Kash University (Canada) and a club team from California.

Hess and Kelley remained undefeated in three matches Thursday posting a 2-0 win over Illinois State, a 2-1 win over Sheridan University (Canada) and a 2-0 win over Cal State Long Beach.

Unfortunately, the Catamount hot streak came to an end on Friday. The Call of Duty squad dropped consecutive 0-2 matches; first to the University of Texas-Dallas and then to Keiser University (Fla.).

The overall 5-2 record was good for a 3rd place finish in the tournament and qualification for the National Tournament starting November 7.

On Sunday the Potomac State No.1 and No.2 Rocket League teams both participated in round two of the Collegiate Rocket League Qualifier.

The Catamount No. 2 team, consisting of Travis Clark, Lamont Lee and Harry Zweifel, lost their first match to the University of Buffalo 1-2 (0-1, 3-2, 2-3 OT) before being eliminated from the tournament by the University of Wisconsin 1-2 (3-2, 0-4, 0-2).
