Harbert Named NJCAA Baseball DI Player of the Week

Potomac State baseball Freshman Chris Harbert had a very impressive week at the plate, earning him this week's NJCAA baseball Division I Player of the Week honors. Harbert helped his team to a 3-3 record on the week. He finished the week with a .631 AVG, 5 HR, and 15 RBIs to recieve the week 4 Player of the Week. 

Harbert started the week with a DH against Seton Hill University. He went 1-3 in game 1 with 1 RBI. Game 2, he went 1-3 scoring 1 run and a double. The Catamounts then traveled to Shenandoah University for a DH. Harbert went 3-7 on the day with 1 run, a double, homerun, and 6 RBIs. They then played a DH at home against Penn State Beaver. In game 1, Harbert went 3-3 with 3 runs. He tripled and homered with 3 RBIs. In game 2, he again went 3-3, scoring 3 runs. This time all three hits were homeruns, two of them in the same inning. Harbert also had 5 RBIs in this game.

Harbert has been a key part at the plate for the Catamounts this season. On the year, he has a batting average of .386, 5 HRs, 22 RBIs, and 14 runs. Nine of his 17 hits have been for extra bases. His .864 slugging percentage ranks ninth in NJCAA Division I.
