Potomac State Baseball 2024 Player Diary Week 10

Welcome to the 2024 Potomac State Baseball player diary homepage. This season, Sophomores Ben McDougal (Bridgeport High School / Bridgeport, WV), and Kris Sutton (Cobb County High School / Calhoun, GA) will take the lead on the Potomac State Baseball Player Diary.

Welcome back Catamounts to this week's addition to the Potomac State Baseball Player Diary. This week is very important for the guys as we have our first home games at Golden Park.

First, we would like to thank our amazing athletic director Mrs. Larkin for going above and beyond and filling our kitchen with snacks. She always goes out of her way for our program to make sure we are all doing well and making sure we have snacks and supplies to help us succeed.

The week started with all the guys getting everything ready from getting cameras situated to fixing the visitor’s bullpen. After everything was situated, the guys followed with practice having some bullpens to throw so pitchers are sharp for the upcoming games then followed with three

group batting practice. All the guys were very excited to have the home opener because there is only one home opener of the year, it’s a special feeling to play on your home field in front of the hometown crowd.

On Saturday the guys had an away game at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. There was a lot of good in the doubleheader against the Hornets with Freshman pitcher Cooper Polcovich with an amazing outing game one going a complete game with seven strikeouts. With all the hitters showing out in game one Jaylon Sanders with a bases-clearing triple, Bryce Suters went 3-4 with three doubles, and Chris Harbert with a Home run. With game two not going as planned we still had a lot of success, but we still need to improve every day to be ready for May Coach Little said.

As for Sunday the catamounts bounced back looking to sweep Penn State Beaver. In the first game, Freshman pitcher Tanner Haskiell started with an amazing first inning going nine pitches three strikeouts later led to a complete game shutout. All hitters did what they needed to do to win game one with Chris Harbert and Nik Rubendall both hitting a home run in game one. The second game came with Freshman Cam Reed getting his first college win. The hitters went off in game two scoring twenty-four runs with Chris Harbert hitting three home runs in game two followed by Bryce Suters hitting two home runs and Aidan Milton hitting one.

With two big wins, the Catamounts are hoping to follow this performance as they host a Region 20/Region 15 game Against Monroe this Saturday, March 23 at noon.

As always, I hope you enjoyed this week’s version of the player diary, and make sure to check out this week’s video below on YouTube.
