All-Region Division I Baseball Teams Announced

The NJCAA Region 20 released its 2023 All-Region Division I Baseball Teams. Six Potomac State standouts were lauded for their efforts on the diamond.

Five Catamounts led the way with first team selection.

Alexander Meckley recieved a first team selection with his performance on the mound this season. Meckley finished his sophomore campaign with a 2-3 record with 8 starts in 10 appearances and 1 complete game. In 45.2 innings pitched, he allowed 36 hits, 18 runs, and 15 earned runs. Meckley struckout 73 and only walked 17 with a 14.39 strikeout per nine innings average and a 2.96 ERA. 

Jake Arnold recieved a first team selection. Arnold had 12 appearances in which he started 9 with 1 save and 1 complete game. He finished the season with a 3-5 record. In 52.2 innings pitched, Arnold gave up 49 hits, 27 runs, and 24 earned runs. He only walked 13, strikingout 62 with a 10.59 K/9 and 4.10 ERA.

Dakota Miller recieved a first team nod for his performace at the plate this season. Miller finished the season with 48 runs and 51 hits. He had 10 doubles, 6 triples, and 10 homeruns. Miller had 42 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. He had a .297 AVG, .383 OBP, and .599 SLG.

Morgan Little also got a first team selection for his performace this season. Little had 30 runs and 52 hits. He had 12 doubles, a triple, and 6 homeruns, with 34 RBIs. He finished his sophomore season with a .349 AVG, .462 OBP, and .564 SLG. Defensively, Little was very solid on 1b for Potomac State.

Rounding out the first team selections for the Catamounts is Jimmy Sadler. Sadler had 38 runs and 49 hits. He had 9 doubles, 4 triples, and 3 homeruns with 49 RBIs. Sadler also had 21 stolen bases. He finished with a .308 AVG, .385 OBP, and .472 SLG. Sadler was very sound defensively, making some great plays a shortstop. 

Ben McDougal is the final Catamount with an all-region selection, recieving honorable mention. McDougal finished his freshman campaign with 11 appearances on the mound with 6 starts and a 7-1 record. In 36.1 innings pitched, he allowed 30 hits, 16 runs, and 14 earned runs. McDougal struckout 53 with a 13.13 strikeouts per nine innings and a 3.47 ERA.
