Potomac State Baseball sweeps pair over Salem

Clarksburg, WV- Brandon Schaeffer struck out nine in four innings of work to improve to 2-0 as the Catamounts won the opening game over Salem University 5-1 Monday afternoon.

Schaeffer allowed just three singles and walked none on the day.  Freshman Jack Hoeymans worked the final three innings to pick up his first save.  Hoeymans allowed just one unearned run.

Dakota Miller drove in a pair of runs with two base hits and Josh Hoffman drove in another with a seventh inning triple.

In game two Hoffman and Graham Brown each drove in two runs with a pair of hits apiece.  Caleb Taylor and Zack Whitacre also added two hits as Potomac State won 9-6.

Robert Kelley worked the opening five innings allowing two runs.  Jared Adams and Matt Kerns each worked an inning each.

Potomac State, 7-2, now opens an eight game homestand beginning Saturday at Golden Park.
