Potomac State sweeps pair over Southern Maryland

LaPlata, MD- Caleb Taylor homered in each game as Potomac State swept a pair of games over the College of Southern Maryland on Saturday.

In the opener, Taylor's two-run homer proved to be the difference in the 4-3 win for the Catamounts.  Dale Houser also hit a solo home run and Devon Neal drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.

Avery Heiple started on the mound for PSC and went 3 2/3 innings.  The southpaw struck out nine and did not allow a hit.  He was relieved by Hunter Ridgeway who went 1 1/3 innings and then by MacHugh Messier who went the final two innings to pick up the save.

In game two Taylor drove in four runs to lead Potomac State to an 18-2 win in five innings.  The Catamounts banged out 16 hits as every starter had at least one hit.

Graham Brown, Josh Hoffman and Anthony Swenda each had two hits apiece.

Robert Kelley picked up the win going four innings.  He struck out six and allowed just two hits.

Potomac State, (2-2) will play at home on Wednesday for a 1PM twin bill with Garrett College.
