Potomac State to hold Winter Hitting Camp

UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Potomac State Baseball Winter Hitting Camp scheduled for Sunday January 13th has been postponed until next Sunday, January 20th.

West Virginia University Potomac State College has scheduled two Winter Hitting Camps, the first one will be held on Sunday, January 13 for ages 6 to 12, with the second one being held on January 20 for ages 13 to 17.  Registration is from noon to 1 p.m., with the camps running from 1 to 4 p.m.  Both camps will be held at the College's Lough Gymnasium.

During these one-day intensive camps, participants will learn the latest in hitting techniques as well as the mechanics of the swing, while also taking part in hitting and bunting drills.  

Head Baseball Coach Doug Little is coordinating the event along with assistant coaches Don Schafer and Andrew Kowalo.  Current Potomac State baseball players will also serve as instructors.

"Instruction and encouragement will be given to develop individual skills as a way of preparing players for competition at a higher level," stated Coach Little. 

Campers will be divided by age and skill level.  All campers should bring baseball bats, batting gloves, tennis shoes for indoor use, caps, and uniform pants or clothes suitable for play.  The cost of the camp is $50 (checks should be made payable to: Potomac State Baseball).
