Whiteman throws perfect game as Potomac State sweeps a pair

Keyser, WV- Potomac State starting pitcher Brett Whiteman pitched a 5-inning perfect game in the opening game of their doubleheader with Christendom College Saturday afternoon at Golden Park.

Whiteman struck out nine to improve his record to 5-0 on the season.

Austin Martin led off the game with a home run to set the pace as PSC banged out thirteen hits.

Tobias Holmelund also went deep for Potomac State with a three-run shot in the third inning.

Joel Spishock went 3-3 and Hayden Almond and Pete Costigan each had two hits in the 13-0 win.

 

In game two, Austin Chavis homered and tripled to lead the Catamounts to a 5-1 win and the sweep.

Almond and Martin each had a pair of hits.

Foster Conis, Garett Haggerty and Andrew Liller combined for a 5-hitter.

PSC is now 24-5 and travels to Harford Community College for a key Region XX game on Sunday at 1PM.
