Schaeffer, Bradford pitch Potomac State to sweep over Lakeland

Keyser, WV- Two strong starting pitching performances led Potomac State to a sweep over Lakeland Community College Tuesday afternoon at Golden Park.

In the opener, Brandon Schaeffer struck out ten, allowed just three hits in a complete game 10-0 run-ruled win.  The freshman improved his record to 3-1 with an 85-pitch effort.

Dale Houser went 3-3 and Andy Berry hot a pair of doubles to lift the Catamounts.

Austin Martin drove in a pair of runs and PSC also received RBI’s from Cole Miller, Austin Chavis and Justin Stone.

In game two Tyler Bradford struck out a season high thirteen Lakeland hitters as Potomac State completed the sweep with a six-inning 10-0 win.

Bradford eighteen hitters and struck out thirteen of them.  The freshman walked just two and allowed a single hit to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Garett Haggerty worked a scoreless sixth in his first appearance of the season.

Chavis drove in four runs, with a pair of doubles and a pair of sacrifice flies.

Pete Costigan led Potomac State with three hits.  PSC also got RBI’s from Martin, Joel Spishock, Christian Reyes, Abe Stearns and Drew Leach.

Potomac State improves to 14-4 and will be at home this weekend for a pair of games versus CCBC Catonsville on Sunday and a single game against Hagerstown Community College on Sunday.
